Byon and Lara's Family Pool Project

April 8, 2002 We have decided to get a pool! After many pencil drawings, and meeting with a few pool companies, we created a pool design we like. Lara laided it out with rocks.

April 13, 2002 We decided to go with Aquascape Pools and modified the design a little bit. Julio came out and painted the outline of the pool and the deck. It didn't show up too well in the photo, so we re-traced it in blue for the pool and yellow for the deck.

April 15, 2002 We signed the contract for the pool. Our web cam is running on Aquascape's Web site. Here is the new design. The pool is 32' x 20', and 5' 6" deep. It will be surrounded by a 5 foot safety fence. The lower right of the pool is designed for younger non-swimmers. The play step is 6 inches deep with 3 fan fountains. The spa is 7 feet in diameter, with a sheer decent waterfall. We will be adding a slide in the back of the pool.

April 23, 2002 Excavation Day! The diggers showed up at 7:30 AM, right on time. The dig went very smoothly, with no caliche, and they were done in a few hours. Next step: Plumbing, later this week! View the Time Lapse video of the day!

April 26, 2002 The plumbers came today, and dug trenches for the pipes and the in-floor cleaner. The pumps, filter, and heater were also installed. One more day of plumbing to go, and then steel framing begins. View the Time Lapse video of the day!

April 29, 2002 Today the plumbers finished more of the pipe work, and covered the bottom pipes with dirt. They also painted the exposed pipes brown to better blend in. The gas line was also run today, which required a new trench, and cutting the concrete walkway. View the Time Lapse video of the day!

May 1, 2002 Bright and early at 6 AM, the steel guys arrived, and created a rebar support for the pool. They also formed the remaining wall of the spa. Next step is the electrical and the final plumbing for the spa jets. View the Time Lapse video of the day!

May 2, 2002 Final plumbing for the spa was added today. View the Time Lapse video of the day!

May 3, 2002 Today, the electricians came and add the pool controller, and the pool and spa lights. They also ran pipes for the in house and spa side control panels (grey pipe just above the spa light). We are ready for inspection!

May 17, 2002 After some delays due to permits and inspections, they were ready to spray the concrete shell. We have to water it down several times a day for a week. View the Time Lapse video of the day!

May 23, 2002 Today they added the tile around the water line of the pool and spa.

June 10, 2002 The concrete deck was poured today. It will soon be covered with Cool Deck. View the Time Lapse video of the day!

June 20, 2002 Today the Cool Deck material was sprayed on top of the concrete deck.
